Meditation for Here to Hereafter, Six-Month Series

With Khenpo Paljor Gyatso

November 21, 2020 - April 17, 2021

Register For 6 Month Series

Meditation has been practiced in some form by virtually every religion in recorded history,  and is considered essential to spiritual growth. Developing a calm, even mind greatly improves one’s life and is a very important aspect of preparing for a positive experience at death.

Khenpo Paljor Gyatso will offer simple, straightforward explanations for correct meditation techniques embraced by the Mahayana Buddhist path – Shamata as well as more advanced Vajrayana methods. Short practice sessions and an opportunity to address questions about the teachings will be included each month. No previous meditation experience is required to participate.

Khenpo Paljor encourages a commitment to attend every class if at all possible, but drop-ins will be welcome. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Personal offerings to the lama and translator are encouraged.

TLC is very happy to have Khenpo Paljor Gyatso teach for us again. Translation into English will be provided by Vanessa Kubota, a highly regarded translator who has assisted many Tibetan lamas in giving a wide range of Buddhist teachings.

Join us, as Khenpo Paljor begins a new teaching series on The Four Thoughts That Turn The Mind. These four reflections will provide us with tools to help train our minds to deal with, and overcome everyday suffering during difficult times. We will be using "A Guide to The Words of My Perfect Teacher", by Khenpo Ngawang Pelzang as a guide to this teaching. This book is a commentary on Patrul Rinpoche's text, "The Words of My Perfect Teacher." This book encompasses the entire path of the Buddhist practice, in which The Four Thoughts are the beginning. Khenpo will be explaining how to turn our minds from suffering into liberation and establish a path for practice. This teaching is especially relevant for this day and age.
